What information will you require to take out a policy?
We'll ask you all the usual questions you'd expect to be asked when taking out a comprehensive car insurance policy. The only difference is that we will require you to tell us your current odometer reading as well. We will need your credit card details to put the car insurance policy in place.
When does my car insurance cover start?
Your PAYD car insurance cover starts when a) your odometer is at or over the odometer start point you have given us, and b) your policy start date has been reached. So it is very important to note that you do NOT have cover before your odometer is at the start point you’ve given us, or before your policy start date. You should make sure that the odometer start point you give us is accurate.
When does my cover end?
Your cover ends when you run out of kilometres. To continue with the full comprehensive cover that PAYD offers you, call us to apply for a top-up, and we may extend your kilometres you can use. If you do not extend your kilometres and you are still within your contract period, we will continue to provide you third party, fire and theft cover for your protection. You will however no longer have comprehensive cover.
What is minimum premium?
With PAYD you can get the benefits of full Comprehensive Cover, but you only pay for the kilometres you plan to drive. You pay a minimum annual premium and you buy kilometres from us. If you don’t drive the kilometres you paid for they can be transferred to the following year if we offer you renewal. Unused kilometres never expire. Comprehensive cover is only valid within the kilometre range listed on your Insurance Certificate and subject to policy terms and conditions. If outside that range, and your policy is still in force (if you have not purchased additional kilometres) your cover is reduced to third party fire and theft cover only.
What is the KMs premium?
When you give us your risk details and we provide you with a quote, we'll give you a price per kilometre for your particular set of circumstances. This will be multiplied by the number of km's you buy.
Do I get multi policy discounts?
If you have more than one car with PAYD insurance then yes, we will apply a multi-policy discount. You must ring us on 13 PAYD (7293) to receive a multi-policy discount.
How do you verify my odometer reading?
You tell us your starting odometer reading and we trust you to be honest with us. We will verify your odometer reading at claims time. If it doesn't match up,we may refuse or reduce your claim.
